The feeling of powerlessness that what you are trying isn't helping and your child is not getting better can be very overwhelming. The sense of relief that comes when you see your child engaged with friends, hearing them looking forward to the future, getting better grades, getting no more phone calls from school, and being able to have family interactions without instant conflict is incomparable.
